Export & heat-treated pallets
Solid wood packaging leaving Great Britain has to meet ISPM15 for the EU and most other destinations, and requirements vary by destination. We supply heat-treated, correctly marked export pallets, crates and cases through Southampton, Portsmouth and Poole — plus plastic and presswood options made from non-solid wood.
Why it matters
ISPM15 is the international phytosanitary standard for solid wood packaging. Border authorities can hold, fumigate, re-pack or refuse a consignment on the strength of the pallet under it. Which destinations require what changes, so we check your destination with you before quoting.
Compliant timber is heat treated to a specified core temperature for a specified time under an approved, audited scheme, then marked with the recognised IPPC stamp identifying the producer and the treatment used. Ordinary kiln-dried timber is not the same thing: only the certified treatment and its mark demonstrate compliance. Packaging made entirely from processed wood, such as plywood or moulded fibre, is outside scope, but any solid timber skid, batten or bracing used with it still has to comply where the destination requires it. Repaired or remanufactured wood packaging generally has to be re-treated and re-marked.
We quote export pallets against the treatment and marking your destination requires, and confirm that specification in writing before you order, so your loading team is not left checking stamps on the dock. If you are exporting for the first time, tell us the destination country and the type of goods and we will talk you through the practical requirements before you order.
Requirements depend on destination — including movements from Great Britain to the EU and Northern Ireland — and they change. Check the current rules on GOV.UK: wood packaging goods for import and export, and we will confirm what your consignment needs.

Export options
Timber, plastic or moulded fibre — the right answer depends on weight, destination, reuse and how much the packaging itself is allowed to cost.

No solid timber means no ISPM15 treatment or marking to check. Ideal for repeat closed-loop shipments, hygiene-sensitive goods and air freight where cleanliness matters.
